A combined kindergarten No 137 for 140 opened in Kazan earlier in the day. Acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Russian President’s Commissioner for Children’s Rights Pavel Astakhov attended the ceremony.

Tatarstan-based international school Innopolis earlier in the day opened a kindergarten for 225 and an Innopolis campus school.
Innopolis mayor Yegor Ivanov called the opening a momentous event in the campus’ history.
“A town gets truly filled with life when it has families. This both means jobs and a strong infrastructure for children need to be in place. Innopolis has many families already, both from Russia regions and from abroad,” he said. “It is largely a unique kindergarten that will operate based on the British education system, which is the result of the work of many people: builders, teachers, local auhotiries and Rustam Minnikhanov personally,” he commented.

Earlier in the day, the Tatarstan education and science officials held a regular August meeting in Bugulma. Acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov was an attendee.

Before the meeting began, Rustam Minnikhanov, Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and Education and Science Minister Engel Fattakhov visited some local educational institutions.

Kazan hosting WorldSkills will enhance the prestige of working occupations. Tatarstan Education and Science Minister Engel Fattakhov said it to journalists on Tuesday.

In 2019, Kazan will host the world vocational skills WorldSkills Competition. The news came on Monday, after the WorldSkills General Assembly took place in Brazilian San Paulo. Acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the presentation of Kazan as a bidding city.

The country to host the 2019 WorldSkillsCompetition vocational skills championship was identified earlier in the day in Brazilian San Paulo. The country is Russia. The host city is Kazan.

On 10-12 August, the Kazan Federal University’s Yelauga Institute will host the 6th international festival of school teachers. Participants will be leading school teachers from Russia and Tatarstan, as well as secondary and higher vocational training system managers, scientists cooperating with educational establishments and foreign specialists.

Kazan Executive Committee has approved a municipal program - the Development of Education in Kazan in 2015-2017. Under this program, a total of 23.9 billion rubles will be allocated to the educational system; the bulk (16.9 billion) will be defrayed by the city’s budget, whereas the rest will be paid by out-of-budget means.

The program consists of four smaller parts: pre-school education; primary, secondary and high school education; upbringing, extra education, disabled children education and rehabilitation; and municipal governance of education.

The primary goal is to improve the educational system of Kazan aimed at modern quality and children socialization.

Today, educational services are provided by 315 kindergartens, 168 schools, 51 institutions of extra education, two rehabilitation-education centers, seven inter-school learning complexes. As much as 106,000 students and 62,500 children are taught there.

It is planned to build 20 kindergartens for 3210 places in Kazan. This was reported today at a press briefing in City Hall by head of city department on capital construction and reconstruction Marat Samigullin.

The third National Championship of Professional Skills was held in Kazan last May. The competition were based on the WorldSkills standards. Like last year, Tatarstan team ranked the first.
As much as 519 contestants from 46 Russian regions and 5 other countries - Morocco, Israel, Finland, Belarus and Kazakhstan - took part in the final stage. They competed in 57 skills, 42 of them were main and 15 were for presentation. The championship took place at the Kazan exhibition hall. The mission of WorldSkills is to raise the profile and recognition of skilled people, and show how important skills are in achieving economic growth and personal success.

The preliminary results of entry-level unified state exam in mathematics were announced on Wednesday, the Tatarstan Education and Science Ministry’s press service reports. For the first time, the exam was taken by 8,361 school undergraduates. The average score in this part of exam totalled 4.04.
