Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan works in accordance with the clause confirmed by RT Cabinet Decree №424 dated 25.08.2005.

• Licensing of the work of RT executive power bodies (licensing of educational institutions) 
• Managing of scientific and scientific-technical activity of RT state educational institutions and scientific organizations 
• Education management, including: 
• Preschool, comprehensive, extended education 
• Funding for realization of basic comprehensive programs 
• Education of orphan children or children deprived of parental care, handicapped children, juveniles and children with deviant behavior 
• Management of primary professional education (except for federal educational institutions) 
• Management of secondary professional education (except for federal educational institutions) 
• Management of extended professional education (except for federal educational institutions) 
• Management of high educational institutions 
• Certification of teaching staff from RT educational institutions and municipal educational institutions in Tatarstan 
• Supervision and control for legislation compliance in education, control for education quality 
• Organization and realization of tutorship and guardianship 
• State accreditation of educational institutions
