Two universities in Kazan share 10th and 11th lines in national university ranking

Two universities in the Tatarstan capital, Kazan National Research Technology University and Kazan (Volga) Federal University share the 10th and 11th lines in a national university ranking published on Wednesday.
The rating list includes 56 higher educational establishments and is topped by Moscow State University after Lomonosov, with a score of 100 points. The university last year ranked first as well.
The runner-up is National Research University MFTI (74), second runner-up is Moscow National Research Technical University after Bauman (71). The best universities in Tatarstan, Kazan National Research Technology University and Kazan (Volga) Federal University, share the 10th and 11th lines (62).
Tatarstan higher educational institutions were marked in private rankings as well. In a private ranking with university’s educational activities as the main criterion, Kazan Federal University shares the 3rd and 4th positions with Moscow National Research Physics and Technology Institute. In a ranking with university’s research activities as the main criterion, Kazan National Research Technology University ranks 4th, as it does in a ranking based on project innovations and commercialisation.
The third national university ranking based on the 2011/2012 results was prepared by the Interfax international information group and Echo Moskvy radio station.
“We hope this campus’ participants will never forget their teams, these days and Tatarstan,” acting Tatarstan President Ildar Khalikov said while closing the 5th Presidential Academy’s Summer Campus event at Innopolis.
On July 13 in the afternoon, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn opening of the 3d Regional open Olympiad of young geologists of Tatarstan in Almetievsk region.
The event runs on 21 to 23 April. An official ceremony to open the 6th republican youth forum Our Tatarstan took place at Kazan’s IT Park on 21 April. Attendees included Aide to Tatarstan President Leila Fazleeva and Tatarstan Deputy Youth Affairs and Sport Minister Rustam Garifullin.
