London 2012 – Sochi 2014 Olympic lessons take place in Kazan

London Olympic double trap champion Vasily Mosin on Saturday held an Olympic lesson themed ‘London 2012 – Sochi 2014’ at the high school 122 in Kazan.
The Olympic winner both met first-years and high school students. He told the youngest students of his career in sport and benefits of doing sport. He gave tips on how to become a real athlete and showed his Olympic medal. During a break, Vasily Mosin and the elementary schoolers to cheerful music did morning exercises.
He went on to meet with students in the 9th form, told them about the past Olympics and answered questions. The questions pertained to Mosin’s wins, one of them was about the role of higher education in a sports careere.
Vasily Mosin’s two daughters, 9th –year student Sofia and first-year Kamilla, study in school No 122.
In an interview with journalists later Vasily Mosin noted Tatarstan had done a lot, to promote sports, holding competitions for younger sportsmen and over the recent years building a great many sports facilities. A focus should be made on developing children’s sport, having as many children as possible doing sports in schools, he added.
Olympic school lessons were on Saturday held in many Russian cities. Besides meetings with prominent athletes, students at Moscow schools were guests at the Sochi 2014 organising committee’s headquarters, while children in Kazan watched an online broadcast of the games’s site. The lesson was presented by the Sochi 2014 ambassador Yuri Vyazemsky and Sochi 2014 organising committee’s president Dmitry Chernyshenko. They were assisted by athletes performing for the Russian Olympic and Paralympic teams, as well as artistes.
