Russian Education Ministry recognises 3 higher educational institutions in Tatarstan as inefficient

Three higher schools and 14 branches in Tatarstan have been listed by the Russian Education Ministry as having signs of inefficiency. The document is published on the authority’s site.
The list of “insufficiently efficient higher schools” includes the Kazan State Agrarian University, Kazan State Energy University and Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University.
In all, 541 state higher educational establishments and 994 branches were included in the monitoring.
Earlier, Russian education minister Dmitry Livanov said that inspections would be carried out of the inefficient schools, based on which results a decision would be made regarding their future. Some schools could be closed down, others merged with efficient ones, while others given more funds for development.
“We hope this campus’ participants will never forget their teams, these days and Tatarstan,” acting Tatarstan President Ildar Khalikov said while closing the 5th Presidential Academy’s Summer Campus event at Innopolis.
On July 13 in the afternoon, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn opening of the 3d Regional open Olympiad of young geologists of Tatarstan in Almetievsk region.
The event runs on 21 to 23 April. An official ceremony to open the 6th republican youth forum Our Tatarstan took place at Kazan’s IT Park on 21 April. Attendees included Aide to Tatarstan President Leila Fazleeva and Tatarstan Deputy Youth Affairs and Sport Minister Rustam Garifullin.
