TV host Sergei Brilev’s lecture at Kazan University creates a stir
20 November 2012, Tuesday
Major Russian Rossia TV and radio company’s deputy general director, TV host Sergei Brilev, on Monday read a lecture for students at Kazan Federal University. The fact that the event had aroused a special interest in future journalists was already evident in the check-room.
A crowd of those who could not fit into the room left the building in disappointment.
Brilev had not come to share his experiences, he said, but gain a new one. “The audience’s response is very important for me,” he commented.
He does not consider journalism to be a science. To become a professional in the field, Brilev advises to work hard.
“Of course, this speciality requires an extensive knowledge of history, geography, literature and law. But the main thing is work, work and work. It is a trade, in the good sense of the word,” he shared.
Sergei Brilev had 5 or 6 times been offered a job with NTV but refused, he said.
“I have so far not had an intention to leave my profession completely,” he enhanced. Had he not become a journalist, he would have become a lawyer, he said.
“I still read textbooks on international law before going to sleep. I like it,” he shared.
“We hope this campus’ participants will never forget their teams, these days and Tatarstan,” acting Tatarstan President Ildar Khalikov said while closing the 5th Presidential Academy’s Summer Campus event at Innopolis.
On July 13 in the afternoon, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn opening of the 3d Regional open Olympiad of young geologists of Tatarstan in Almetievsk region.
The event runs on 21 to 23 April. An official ceremony to open the 6th republican youth forum Our Tatarstan took place at Kazan’s IT Park on 21 April. Attendees included Aide to Tatarstan President Leila Fazleeva and Tatarstan Deputy Youth Affairs and Sport Minister Rustam Garifullin.
