Advanced technologies were highly called for in Tatarstan’s education, since their usage was an important factor for system’s increased efficiency and competitiveness, President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, said while opening the plenary session of a regional education and science conference.
Arsk had not been chosen randomly as the venue, he said. “There are quite a few interesting projects here, in particular, a remote Tatar language learning project,” governor said, adding that he had learned about the innovation while visiting the Arsk Pedagogical College.
“There are undoubtedly some useful projects in other regions as well,” he enhanced. “In general, positive trends have been seen in the Tatarstan’s system of education.”
Education branch’s funding had owing to implementing large federal and local projects been substantially increased, R. Minnikhanov went on to report. The federal part of funding the modernisation of general education in 2013 totalled over 700 million roubles, he specified, while 2.5 billion roubles had over the past two years been allocated to renovate school buildings. Over 2.2 billion roubles had been allocated to build kindergartens, the president said, noting that teachers’ and kindergarten staff’ salaries had increased as well.
“Tatarstan actively adopts advanced international expertise in the part of reforming education system,” Tatarstan President stated.
The main component is teacher’s personality, them having requisite skills and competence, the president is convinced. “Each teacher and day-care assistant needs to have good command of best teaching techniques,” R. Minnikhanov urged.
