Schools in Tatarstan in lead-up to Teacher’s Day get new buses

Buses were today gifted to municipal schools and Tatarstan Education Ministry establishments within festive events marking the Day of the Teacher.
Tatarstan Prime Minister, Ildar Khalikov, education minster, Engel Fattakhov, Council of Municipalities chairman, Minsagit Shakirov, and other officials were attendees.
Head of Tatarstan government, Ildar Khalikov, told those present: “As difficult as 2013 was for us, we have been able to save the School Bus programme and a range of other welfare programmes. It is not accidental because children are our main wealth.”
He went on to add that the School Bus programme had proven to be more that effective, allowing reduce road accident rates with school buses, improve level of children’s education, deliver them from small settlements. “most importantly, we see that all this together produces results,” said Ildar Khalikov.
He thanked the heads of regional and municipal authorities, head of departments of education and educators for their work.
Baltasy region department of education chief, Gulnara Gabdrakhmanova, on behalf of the team of educators thanked the Tatarstan government for the support and expressed expectation that teachers would be able to raise children and train them, so they could adequately represent the republic at various academic competitions.
A total of 106 school buses worth 172.2 million roubles have in 2013 been purchased. Nine will be used to set up new routes, 94 will replace the outdated pool, including 13 buses for correctional schools.
