Schools in Kazan to be equipped with surveillance cameras
11 February 2014, Tuesday
Schools in Kazan will be equipped with surveillance cameras. The installation is planned to be completed by May.
The press service of the Mayor’s Office said the equipment would be leased, with about 22 billion roubles being earmarked in the city’s budget for its maintenance. From next year on, budget funds for CCTV cameras are expected to be allocated annually.
Before the initiative was approved, surveillance cameras had been installed at 60 of the 170 schools. The press service of Kazan Mayor’s Office said that a CCTV system had not been a requirement before, so school management had had to find funds to install it themselves. Each school has a police emergency button and a fire alarm system as well.
“We hope this campus’ participants will never forget their teams, these days and Tatarstan,” acting Tatarstan President Ildar Khalikov said while closing the 5th Presidential Academy’s Summer Campus event at Innopolis.
On July 13 in the afternoon, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn opening of the 3d Regional open Olympiad of young geologists of Tatarstan in Almetievsk region.
The event runs on 21 to 23 April. An official ceremony to open the 6th republican youth forum Our Tatarstan took place at Kazan’s IT Park on 21 April. Attendees included Aide to Tatarstan President Leila Fazleeva and Tatarstan Deputy Youth Affairs and Sport Minister Rustam Garifullin.
