School students in Kazan to hold flashmob in honour of Olympics opening in Sochi

School student activists would hold a flashmob dedicated to the opening of the Olympic Games in Sochi later in the day, Yulia Kolobova, head of Zarechie continued education centre’s department of civic and patriotic education, said. According to Y. Kolobova, some 100 pupils would take part in the flashmob. They will do dancing exercises at the site by the centre.
“The event is held for the students, its purpose being to boost a healthy lifestyle,” explained Kolobova. Svetlana Krasheninnikova, Master of Sports in trap shooting and world trap shooting championship silver winner, will come to the meeting and tell the students about her sporting victories.
Torchbearers and young athletes from an Olympic Reserve School will carry the 2014 Olympics torch to give it to the flashmob’s participants who will use it to light an Olympics cauldron in Kazan.
The Olympics opening ceremony telecast will be shown on the wall of the Zarechie centre, next to which the flashmob will begin at 19:45 to conclude with a disco.
The opening ceremony of the 22nd Olympic Games in Sochi will take place tonight.
