Online video surveillance to take place at all unified state exam posts – Engel Fattakhov

8 March 2015, Sunday
On Thursday, Tatarstan Education Minister Engel Fattakhov held a meeting on urgent issues related to education and organising the final state examination at schools in 2015. Attendees were education department and executive committee chiefs.

In the outset, Engel Fattakhov said he had recently attended a ceremony held to award the winners of a city-wide teaching skills competition Best Teacher of Kazan 2015, held traditionally with the participation of the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at Kazan City Hall.

“In no other municipal region of Tatarstan winners of teaching proficiency competition are awarded so solemnly,” he noted. Russia’s best teachers are this year to gather in Kazan for the Russia Teacher of the Year 2015 competition’s final. The intramural stage, including demonstration lessons, workshops and master classes, will take place on the grounds of Kazan schools. The number of competition participants grows year to year."

“Last year, for the first time in the competition’s history our biology teacher from Nurlat school, Alla Golovenkina, was voted the Russian Teacher of the Year 2014. We have quite a few talented educators, and I am sure we are able to hold the lead,” the minister stated.

The Russian competition’s final is traditionally held in the territory of previous year’s winner. The competition allows teachers borrow best practices from their colleagues, learn many new things and improve themselves professionally.

Engel Fattakhov went on to say that the number of final school exam posts had considerably decreased in 2015, from 114 in 2014 to 86. Each post would be equipped with metal detectors and surveillance cameras, to work online, he pledged.

“The examinations need to be held without any violations. We need to assess our children’s knowledge objectively and transparently,” the minister concluded.
