Tatarstan Education and Science Minister: “Working occupations need to be cultivated”

Earlier in the day, Tatarstan Education and Science Minister Engel Fattakhov met with the winners of WorldSkills Russia 2015 championship’s regional stage held at Kazan Energy College’s resource centre.
Between 9 and 12 April, Tatarstan’s team will take part in the Volga Federal District competition in Samara. Tatarstan team will be represented in all 15 competences: refrigerating and ventilation equipment maintenance, turned work with use of computer aided machine tools, costume design, agricultural machinery, car repair and maintenance, confectionary, cooking, hairstyling, welding technologies, dry construction and plastering, and others.
Over the course of the meeting held at Tatarstan Education Ministry, Engel Fattakhov was told about the competition’s specifics and coaching the Tatarstan team.
“WorldSkills is an important movement for us, because what matters most is training highly qualified working personnel. We need to cultivate the working occupations,” the minister called.
Regional working occupation competitions needed to be held annually, Engel Fattakhov suggested, recalling Kazan bid for hosting the 2019 WorldSkills Competition event.
In the conclusion of the meeting, the minister wished the young people success in the competition in Samara.
“We hope this campus’ participants will never forget their teams, these days and Tatarstan,” acting Tatarstan President Ildar Khalikov said while closing the 5th Presidential Academy’s Summer Campus event at Innopolis.
On July 13 in the afternoon, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn opening of the 3d Regional open Olympiad of young geologists of Tatarstan in Almetievsk region.
The event runs on 21 to 23 April. An official ceremony to open the 6th republican youth forum Our Tatarstan took place at Kazan’s IT Park on 21 April. Attendees included Aide to Tatarstan President Leila Fazleeva and Tatarstan Deputy Youth Affairs and Sport Minister Rustam Garifullin.
