Team Tatarstan wins 3rd WorldSkills Russia championship final

The Republic of Tatarstan’s team won the 3rd WorldSkills Russia national championship’s final.

The award ceremony was held at Kazan’s Tatneft Arena on Saturday, attendees being Russia deputy government chairman Olgar Golodets, acting Tatarstan president Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan education minister Engel Fattakhov and other officials.

Team Sverdlov Region came in second, while the second runner-up is Moscow.

The national championship opened on 19 May, featuring 519 contestants from 46 Russian regions and five other countries - Morocco, Israel, Finland, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Besides, 613 experts, including 55 chief experts and 19 international experts, from 9 countries came to the final round.

The competitors encountered in more than 50 competences.

Based on the championship in Kazan, a final line-up of Russia’s national team that will take part in WorldSkills Competition world championship in San Paulo, Brazil, will be decided.

The final round’s winners are Linar Minnakhmetov who performed in CAD Design category, Veniamn Petrov in Tiling category, Ravil Zagrtdinov of Car Repair and Maintenance, and others.
