WorldSkills Competition 2019 to take place in Kazan

The country to host the 2019 WorldSkillsCompetition vocational skills championship was identified earlier in the day in Brazilian San Paulo. The country is Russia. The host city is Kazan.

WorldSkills General Assembly took place immediately after the three bidding countries, Belgium (Charleroi), France (Paris) and Russia (Kazan) made their presentations.

Twenty four votes were cast for France, 28 for Russia and 5 for Belgium in the first round. As winning required 20 votes, a half plus one, a second round was held, in which Russia won 31 votes and France did twenty six.

The Russian delegation attending the WorldSkills General Assembly included acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
