Tatarstan becomes fourth best Russian region in Russian language knowledge

The results of a national festival called The Russian Language As National Asset of the Peoples of the Russian Federation, held by one of Russia’s largest news agencies, RIA Novosti.
The organisers established a special nomination called Region Who Knows Russia Best of All. Winners were 10 regions, among whom Tatarstan was fourth.
Tatarstan representatives won in the nomination Teaching Workshop and Russian Language Expert. The list of winners includes a Russian language teacher Tatiana Akhmatova and her student, Amir Sadykov.
An official closing ceremony took place on 6 June on the Day of the Russian Language at the Maly Theatre in Moscow. Tatarstan’s education minister Albert Gilmutdinov was presented a certificate confirming that Tatarstan was the most active participant.
The festival included two stages. The long-distance stage was held between 20 and 30 April and gathered 37,288 participants on the official website.
Contests were held within 10 nominations: Russian language expert, teaching workshop, scholarly research, language and culture, 21st century thinker and speaker, social advertisement, journalism, Russian word in design, social project and blogger’s literary life.
The main stage was held between 3 and 6 June in Moscow and included competitions, discussions, cultural events, guided tours, exhibitions and master classes.
“We hope this campus’ participants will never forget their teams, these days and Tatarstan,” acting Tatarstan President Ildar Khalikov said while closing the 5th Presidential Academy’s Summer Campus event at Innopolis.
On July 13 in the afternoon, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn opening of the 3d Regional open Olympiad of young geologists of Tatarstan in Almetievsk region.
The event runs on 21 to 23 April. An official ceremony to open the 6th republican youth forum Our Tatarstan took place at Kazan’s IT Park on 21 April. Attendees included Aide to Tatarstan President Leila Fazleeva and Tatarstan Deputy Youth Affairs and Sport Minister Rustam Garifullin.
