Number of school graduates scoring 100 at unified state exam increases in Tatarstan

The number of school graduates scoring 100 at the unified state exam in Tatarstan this year increased. While in 2012 they were 109, in 2013 they became 416, first deputy education minister, Danil Mustafin, said at a Cabinet of Ministers briefing.
The growth was substantial among chemistry (216 in 2013), English language (18), information technologies (40), physics (36), mathematics (15) and biology (21) examinees. The official went on to recall that two school graduates had passed the exam scoring 100 in three subjects.
“The number of works awarded 80 points and more totalled 9,666, or 14 percent. It is a substantial figure,” D. Mustafin noted. By comparison, last year the figure was 7 percent.
The high-score papers, of 90 points and more, written in the Russian language, history, information technologies, chemistry and physics, were verified by subject-specific commissions and their results were at the decision of the State Examination Commission kept valid.
“Sixteen regions have passed the USE without problems with getting certificates,” D. Mustafin shared.
The best educational establishments, assessed by average Russian language and mathematics marks, share of high-score students and share of students failing to get a certificate, were high school No 26 in Naberezhnye Chelny, school No131 in Kazan and school No 6 with expanded curricula on some subjects in Bugulma, the official said.
