President of Tatarstan presents car keys to best teacher

An official event celebrating the Day of the Teacher was on Thursday held at the Tatar Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Guests of honour were President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, heads of ministries and departments. Over 1 thousand educators had been invited.
The festive programme began with a vivid video telling about the present-day school, after which President of Tatarstan came onstage. He greeted all educators on their professional holiday.
“The potential that Tatarstan has, our achievements and results – all this is for the benefit of the people owing to the educational potential that this republic has. Many factors influence the region’s progress. Some say it is raw material and industrial base but, mostly, it is the human factor, human potential, able to solve big tasks. Everything is formed by the people present here. Thank you very much for that,” R. Minnikhanov said.
President of Tatarstan noted that the attitude to the teacher changed, many decisions related to remuneration were made at the federal level. Local programmes were run, to support educators and renovate school buildings, construct kindergartens and use advanced teaching technologies.
President of Tatarstan presented Russia and Tatarstan state awards. The teacher of mathematics at school No 26 in Naberezhnye Chelny, Lubov Baeva, who had displayed best results, was given car keys. Lubov Baeva is the winner of many competitions. In the past 3 years alone, she has trained 44 winners of mathematics competitions.
“It is unexpected and particularly pleasant for me,” said Lubov Baeva. “Thank you for the honour. Thank you for your attitude to education. I will do my best for my pupils to continue to show excellent results.”
“We have no doubt of that,” said R. Minnikhanov. “Dear teachers, I once again greet you on this holiday!”
A concert continued the festive event. Tatar Opera and Ballet Theatre leading performers, and other famous actors and singers, came onstage.
Tatarstan education minister, Engel Fattakhov, greeted the teachers on the holiday in conclusion. He said over 75 thousand people were at the moment engaged in the republic’s education system.
A song dedicated to the teaching profession, performed to a round of applause, concluded the festivity.
