Kazan Best Teacher of 2014 works at high school No 122

A ceremony to award the winners of a city-wide competition Kazan Best Teacher 2014 was held at Kazan City Hall earlier today.
The competition is traditionally held shortly before the Internatioanl Women’s Day on 8 March. Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, said that the number of nominations and participants constantly increased.
Quite a few participants are young teachers whose average age is about 35 and average teaching experience counts 10.5 years.
There were winners among those gathered but there were no losers, said I. Metshin. He thanked the teachers and educational institution heads who helped them to prepare for the competition.
“The teaching work is respectable and responsible,” Ilsur Metshin noted. “You are both mentors and elder comrades for your pupils, you give them knowledge and skills of living.”
“The capital city’s teaching corps sets a standard for the entire republic,” the mayor of Kazan is convinced. He recalled that 15 of out 19 Tatarstan's schools found in the Russian top 500 list of schools the year before were based in Kazan.
Tatarstan Education and Science Minister Engel Fattakhov recalled that Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had said that republic’s progress was contingent on education. “Our priority task is to train personnel, which requires a strong education system, from pre-school stage to vocational training,” E. Fattakhov stressed, adding that much was done in Tatarstan to improve education.
More than 400 teachers took part in the competition’s regional stages, while 67 did in the city stage held on 6 to 18 February. The competition included seven subject-specific nominations.
Mathematics teacher from Kazan high school No 122 Milausha Kamyshina became the Kazan Best Teacher in 2014. The runner up is the history teacher at secondary school No 79 Rada Zakharova, followed by elementary school teacher at school No 52 Albina Proshina.
Following the ceremony, Milausha Kamyshina said she was overwhelmed. “I am grateful for the opportunity to feel in the 31st year of teaching that what I do pays off. I am a truly happy person because I love my job,” she said.
The winner was given a cash prize of 100,000 roubles.
“We hope this campus’ participants will never forget their teams, these days and Tatarstan,” acting Tatarstan President Ildar Khalikov said while closing the 5th Presidential Academy’s Summer Campus event at Innopolis.
On July 13 in the afternoon, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn opening of the 3d Regional open Olympiad of young geologists of Tatarstan in Almetievsk region.
The event runs on 21 to 23 April. An official ceremony to open the 6th republican youth forum Our Tatarstan took place at Kazan’s IT Park on 21 April. Attendees included Aide to Tatarstan President Leila Fazleeva and Tatarstan Deputy Youth Affairs and Sport Minister Rustam Garifullin.
