Minnikhanov and Astakhov open kindergarten in Kazan’s Privolzhsky District

7 September 2015, Monday
A combined kindergarten No 137 for 140 opened in Kazan earlier in the day. Acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Russian President’s Commissioner for Children’s Rights Pavel Astakhov attended the ceremony.

Welcoming those gathered, Rustam Minnikhanov noted the opening took place on a beautiful day. “This year, we run our most extensive kindergarten construction programme. This year, 75 new kindergartens will appear in Tatarstan, more than half of them have already been put into operation,” acting governor said.

He stressed that building day-care centres in a region with so positive demographic trends was extremely important.

“This one is not just a kindergarten but a kindergarten with every latest feature. We realise a child of today needs to get all skills to be competitive in the future. They will start going to school with the knowledge they will get here,” Rustam Minnikhanov added.

“Coming to Tatarstan and Kazan is always a tremendous joy for me, and I get stunned by the new things that come to life within a short period. The number of kindergartens built in recent years not simply impresses but gives hope and faith in the future. I consider positive that kindergartens are built and filled, and even the fact that there are waiting lists,” Pavel Astakhov said.

After a symbolic key to the new kindergarten was given by the builders to the day care centre’s director, the visitors viewed the premises that include rooms for six groups of children, a music room, a gymnasium, a medical office, a kitchen, a laundry room and a playground.

The kindergarten is expected to provide additional pre-school education courses.
